Rethinking Work

1. America needs to take advantage of the technology that is changing around the world. High speed rail is prime example. Japan, which is further along than the United States as fas as technology has a very fast high speed rail system. Not taking advantage of the train system has set back the U.S. If America wants to keep up with other countries they need to start by putting in a high spped rail system and must be open to more changes.
2. For companies looking to innovate, I recommend talking to customers and other people outside the company for ways to improve the company. Its been proven that ideas from groups of people can do more than just the individual. Who more better to talk to than the customers? After watching the video, I feel that experts arn't needed as much as people say, when companies now have access to the entire world. Companies need to utilize this if they want to innovate.
3.Education is much more important today than it was twenty years ago. Without education, some people feel as though they have no opportunity. If we want our country to continue to develop and continue to succeed, our youth must be educated. Americans are behind as far as math and sciences and this cannot continue if America wants to pass up countries like China and Japan. By educating future leaders, our country would not only be in good hands, but maybe be able to pass up other countries which we are behind right now.
4. I've noticed that social networks have really changed lives. Websites such as Facebook or Twitter have really become places where Google and Yahoo find valuable information. Jobs can find potential employees through Facebook and even decide who they don't want to work by going through facebook. More and more people join social networks and can keep up with their favorite celebrities through them. In the end, social networks are only going to grow and make life easier.
5. I feel that America is behind a lot of countries. Countries in Europe, Japan and China all sem to be ahead of the United States. Once again, America doesn't have a high speed rail system throughout the whole country. It's even better to buy a Toyota or Lexus before one buys a Ford. It seems that foreign is always better. Although the United States developed, it is still behind.
